Head of Largest Great White Shark Ever Caught on Rod and Reel

IF YOU play pool, this creature is taxidermized and mounted above the pool table at Salivar's, along the Montauk docks. If you don't want your head bitten off, don't ask the bartender anything about this animal. Always knock before you open the door to the Ladies Room to shoot from the far corner.

  1. This particular shark is not the largest ever taken on rod and reel. Realizing that there was no chance to catch such a large great white on a baited line, Mundus decided to harpoon it, so it wouldn't be lost. He wanted the head for a head mount. Mundus wrote later that when this shark first appeared with jaws agape by the side of the boat, you could have tossed a basketball into its mouth and not touched either side.
